Raffle winner makes generous donation

3rd May 2006

Curlwaa’s Bob Cummings, the man who won the Paddle Steamer Ruby raffle, has donated $500 to the restoration cause.

Mr Cumming made his generous donation when taking possession of his Stacer boat package from Mildura’s Baldwin Boats and valued at more than $11,000 during a special ceremony recently.

Paddle Steamer Ruby Board of Management chairman, Leon Wagner, welcomed Mr Cummings’ gesture.

“I assured him it will be put to good use,” Mr Wagner said.

Greg Martin, Mildura, won second prize --two nights and three days cruising the Murray River aboard the Paddle Vessel Coonawarra.

And the third prize, a $200 voucher from Wentworth’s fabulous Red Restaurant went to E. Jess, Homebush Road, Avoca, Victoria.

The raffle was drawn by Cheryl Rix, chair of the Wentworth Branch of the Bendigo Community Bank, a committed financial supporter of the P.S. Ruby restoration effort.
